Dress Code
The festive dress code is an inseparable part of the Vienna Opera Ball.
In order to preserve the special character of the ball, the specified dress code must be adhered to by all guests.

The opera foyer combines upscale Gerstner cuisine with a diverse selection of drinks in an elegant ambience.
Warm organic sausages with hand rolls and delicately topped Opera Ball rolls with roast beef, salmon trout, crayfish or vegetarian and vegan options provide hearty indulgence, complemented by a selection of petits fours and fine confectionery.
Sparkling wine and rosé from Schloss Gobelsburg, fine Bollinger champagne, selected white wines, classic long drinks, spirits, non-alcoholic refreshments and Italian coffee specialties round off the offer in style.

Feststiege
If you would like to enter the Opera Ball via the famous and beautifully decorated Feststiege (Main Staircase), you have the opportunity to do so until 21:10.
From 21:10, our Feststiege access will be closed for the arrival of the Austrian Federal Government and the Federal President and his guests.
Later in the evening, the Feststiege will of course be accessible to all our guests again.
Please note that when entering the Red Carpet, you must choose between the regular Red Carpet and the Feststiegen-Zugang.
Both entrances lead into the building via the Red Carpet, but if you want to enter via the Feststiege, you have to enter via the Feststiegen-Zugang.

Our Red Carpet entrance will be accessible to you throughout the entire evening. Please note that entering via this entrance does not include access to the Feststiege (Main Staircase). To use the Grand Staircase, please choose the designated Grand Staircase entrance.
The Red Carpet will remain open and accessible to you even during the arrival of the Austrian Federal Government and the Federal President.

The Hinterbühne (Backstage) - an area where stage sets and bulky props such as the cars from Carmen are normally stored - is transformed every year for the Opera Ball into an open space from which the couples from the opening committee enter the ballroom.
Ströck Feierabend combines bakery craftsmanship with sophisticated indulgence.
Hearty organic bread rolls, Feierabend sausages, potato goulash or mushroom pasta meet sweet jour doughnuts as well as a selected accompaniment of sparkling wine, wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic alternatives.

The side stage combines the best of Gerstner cuisine and classic bar culture.

The menu is accompanied by sparkling wine and rosé from Gobelsburg Castle, fine champagnes, wines, classic long drinks and coffee specialties.

With its open view of the grand staircase, the box foyer is a special place for relaxed moments of enjoyment.
Whether a glass of sparkling wine or rosé, a bottle of Bollinger champagne, a fresh Grüner Veltliner or a classic Weißer Spritzer. Complemented by spirits, beer, non-alcoholic refreshments and coffee from Goppion, the result is a stylish meeting place with a special view.
Einsingraum
Away from the Opera Ball, the Einsingraum is an area where singers - whether world stars or Viennese favorites - warm up vocally and prepare for their performance on the big stage.
On the evening of the ball, this room, which is normally reserved for the stars, becomes an exclusive area where guests are pampered with a table seat by our table service.
